Dry laid stone steps are built without cement or mortar and are used to transition areas on your property or home. These are larger pieces of stone, that can either be cut into perfect dimensions or left as mosaic shapes. Dimensional steps, for example, would be 6″ of rise, 14″ of depth and 6′ of length. Very formal and elegant. If the stones were mosaic in shape, stacking these to get up a backyard pathway or to transition a steep embankment on your property would be the perfect natural addition to your landscaping. They generally don’t require more than a crushed stone footing.
My passion for stone – construction started 25 years ago when I built my first wall and continues today in my company, Earth and Stone Masonry. With each project I construct, attention to detail is paramount.
